Batik winged fairy

The basis of the wings for this fairy, was a large piece of fabric I had batik- patterned and dyed the same day. This was then sewn over by both hand and machine. This is possibly the most simple of all the samples, but one of the most effective.

I sketch a lot of these fairy-esque figures and I wanted to see if it were possible to transfer them into textiles. The result was a series of samples or 'dolls' with varying wing designs.
