You use white to such good effect. I think I figured out that that's what's so unique and interesting about your art--the white highlights on hair and clothing can evoke such a range of textures.

I actually was wearing 3 spikes in my lower lip that day, didn't sketch the other two cos I didn't want to look too 'agressive' as i'm often being told

Yay for colouring in white! Strangely, I often hate how white some of my sketches can be - with the exception of quick concepts and stuff, and this was completely intentionally white, but often things will end up a lot lighter than I intended. Perhaps if I turn my monitor setting wayyyy up i'll start colouring darker?

Glad the textures are coming through though, that's a massive plus

Aww ty, it's appreciated, and yes it is that bright in reality, the wool ones which this was originally based on, are even brighter - the one's I have at the moment are some nice elecrtic blue and black twists kind of like a gothic candy cane lol.
I'll have to post a pic of them at some point.

No, conventional beauty tends to turn me right off visually, I don't think anything is wrong with it, it's just not my cup of tea. I always like quirky little (or large!) differences people sometimes have, people who aren't afraid to be different. It's just a shame they get so much stick for it

Blinded by my monitor? I'm gonna need some sunglasses...or better yet, a welders visor! XD - but I guess that would defeat the point.
