So I Trod On Some Dragonfruit

Tue Dec 1, 2009, 3:58 AM
I am not sure how I missed it, they aren't exactly small, but then neither are my feet so I guess we are even. But that's not why I mentioned it, I mention it because of the smell...
While dragonfruit tastes delicious, it smells like how I imagine the inside of a maw luur to smell. In short, it smells worse than you could possibly imagine, especially when it's welded onto the sole of a boot that's just walked 2 miles in really icy - muddy weather.
I had hoped that the combination of the frozen ground followed by the mud would get rid of the excess fruit, but I was wrong. Scraping my boot against a hard surface, while clearing the bulk of the gooey mess, did not get into the deep tread of the sole.

So now I am at work, with one very stinky boot *insert unamused expression here* and have been resorting to using such things as solvent cleaner - industrial antibacterial wash (with odor-killer!) in order to take away the stench. After all, I don't want people thinking that is what I smell like! But even this does not seem to work, and the smell, everytime I get close to getting a whiff of it, makes me want to lose my breakfast D: I have scrubbed and scrubbed but still the smell remains. Solutions please! :XD:

In more arty related news, I have been absent from this site lately, but I have good reason, I was commissioned to create a piece for someone...previews of that will follow in a later edit, so keep a look out for those.

I leave you with this amusing screen capture of my inbox at work...it was too good not to post. [link]

Sale!

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 16, 2009, 10:01 AM

So here I sit downloading Dragon Age (which looks amazing by the way!) sketching away at the request of someone, whilst wondering weather or not it's worth my while putting a few bits n';pieces up for auction on ebay. Never know, might find yourself a bargain, or I might raise more than I thought I would.
Opinions please?

Basically, I need to make room in my portfolio for new stuff, new techniques are on the horizon and you've already seen a few of them in the last two or three pieces I have posted here. Thanks very much for the feedback on Nehsta Ku - an unpresidented ammount of faves in a very short space of time, I only wish I had the hours in the day to say thanks, personally, to everyone who faved it..even the lurkers ;)

If I do decide to put stuff up for auction, both prints and originals, I will list them in the journal with links. Aside from that, just a reminder that christmas is coming and if you would like a print of anything, please just drop me a note or email (please note new address) and I will get back to you - they might be more affordable than you thought and I am always happy to haggle on multiple prints. :)

Something that isn't in the gallery that you would like to see? Drop me a suggestion! In between doing commissions, I like to practice new stuff, so best suggestions will be used, never know, could see yours over there <----

Hope everyone is well!

Can I take Your Photo?

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 6, 2009, 5:16 AM

So I randomly got asked this question in the street the other day, by the very nice photographer that runs a fashion blog over at the following link...

[link]

I was caught a bit off guard, and it shows lol, on my way to work! I kind of like them though :)

One thing is certain, with random people taking my photo in the street, they must be onto me!

Also...A HUGEMUNGOUS THANKS!!! to all those who faved and commented on my newest piece, "Nehsta Ku" it had the most faves within the space of 24 hours than anything else I have posted. Really glad you like it and the new techniques are working out :D

I really will get round to commenting on all the deviations in my inbox, work has been taking over my life a bit at the moment, but I am slowly gnawing my way through them all. Rest assured though, I DO look!

Interview With Your OC

Tue Oct 20, 2009, 8:21 AM
Since I am not having too much of a good time of it at the moment, I decided to post this, which is mildly humerous.
*Jigsaw voice* The rules are simple...

Interviews with your OCs!

OCs, answer the following questions (in character) about your writer:

OC: Lotva Shai

1. Just who is this person?

I have never seen this person before in my life, yet I am told she is my creator, this is false; Yun-Yuuzhan is my creator, not this audacious whelp! The insult this implies is unthinkable too. Aside from all this I am not aware of any significant details, but she does have unworldly hair-creatures on her head, that resemble a shaper's headdress, but the tendrills face down instead of up, foolish ignot, the shaper responsible for this should be sacrificed at once! However, her choice in body art and modification suggests that she too embraces pain, and that is approaching worthiness. I will endeavour to discover more, though this may be hard when the subject changes their appearence more often than I change my ooglith masquer.

2. Where'd you meet?
It would be around the time I came to make a history for myself, she supposedly created this as well, if this is true, then she is also responsible for removing me from the warrior caste and placing me into the Intendant caste instead, I would challenge her if she would just write me bearing an amphistaff in the weapons section of my biography. As it is, I may have to improvise, perhaps the boiling caress or a breaking will persuade her to scrub this atrocity out of my history for good? In spite of this disgrace, she has since gone on to see to it that I devise one of the greatest deceptions in current Yuuzhan Vong history, my khot would be proud.

3. Do you have a long term relationship or has it been just a one-night stand?

What are you implying infidel?! Your words sound like the excretion-patterns of the maw luur to my ears. That is all I will say to that!

4. If you were writing the story instead of your writer what would you have done differently?

Abseloutely, I would see to it that all of my rivals were shamed or sacrificed, and that the infidels learned their true place in the galaxy. Combine this with writing me in my rightful place as supreme Overlord, and you will have yourself a deal. There really is so much that I would change, too little time for me to explain it.
I will add, however, that if I were to write something different here and now, it would be your last question.....shortly followed by your death....and the deaths of all those infidels giggling away like crechelings whilst reading that.

Almost Through!

Fri Sep 25, 2009, 5:52 AM
8 days down, 3 to go, long hours that stretch way into the wee hours of the morning, no breaks, a bazillion little cuts on my fingertips, one flayed finger (I kid you not, it hurts like hell) and a long palm cut, countless energy/vitamin drinks consumed along with enough sugary food to keep an army hyper for a year, aches in places I never knew I had, working/living/sleeping in an over heated and very active room with four guys who have uber infections right now, later...and I'm STILL ALIVE! >:)

Only three more days and it'll be my birthday...not to mention the fact i'll be freeeeee! *backflips* The end of this event is finally in sight, and I couldn't be happier about it (unless they decided to cancel the final 3 days of course!). I literally cannot wait for this to happen, this year has been more intense than all previous years, even with the extra hired help, we have all been worked - some of us literally - to the bone. Of course the event isn't complete without the usual casualties, lol all of our hands resemble someone who has been playing tug-o-war with razor wire and no ammount of binding them with any kind of sterile fabric does anything for the pain, let me tell you! Plus it's hard to do anything when your hands are covered.

I am looking forward to getting back to viewing all those deviations up there, responding to comments and everything :D As long as I don't come down with this mysterious uber-virus i'm sure i'll be fine. I miss you all! :(

There is LOTS of art on the way and more fiction for those who watch me over at tf.net and my fic account :) Some new request art and original stuff, along with that Dresden piece which is nearing completion now.
You know what else I noticed? I haven't drawn/painted any Yuuzhies lately, I think I should change that.

And Mr. Iceay...I believe I owe you some brain breakage >:)
